Finally, things are moving in the right direction over here!

A few degrees below zero, alight coverign of snow, and the promise of more on the way. Ahhh! 

I like snow, too.

Here we had frozen fog this morning, which delayed schools opening. It'll be rather mild the next couple of days.

OK, I'll consider myself lucky to be in Calgary - Edmonton (capital city, 300 km north) was the coldest place on earth at one point on Saturday night! -46C is TOO cold.

Good that I haven't been there in the last 30 years 

Super mild today, here- in the 50 F's. Tomorrow we pay for this.

All the rain cleaned up the air and it's incredibly beautiful today, even if it's kinda chilly. Need to check to see if it'll frost tonight--my poor lemon tree has been taking a beating.

Us too; -6C (at night!) and aiming to hit 0 tomorrow.

36°C here today.  At least it didn't go to the 39°C they forecast...

It went below zero this night and forecast is that it will stay there for the time being. There has been a wee bit of snow and maybe (just maybe) there will be more of it in the next few days.

Cold as a witch's teat... if'n that particular teat is in the mid-20's F.

Lovely weather for outdoor work - probably somewhere around -5C today?  Cold enough that it doesn't get sloppy, warm enough to sample in nitrile without losing fingers.

21°C today, had about 9 mm of rain in my guage overnight, expecting more over the weekend.

First snow yesterday. Rooves slightly decorated first thing, followed later by small shower at just the moment I went outside. Now I realise why we have windows.

Light snowing (taking a pause currently). But forecasts don't look good, there is a 'good' chance of Christmas thawing.

We still have snow, lots of it (by Stockholm measures). Yesterday the traffic; trains, buses, and the roads in general, more or less collapsed during a 10 hour massive snow fall.

All roads are cleared by now but not the side walks so warm and water resistant footwear is recommended.

Questions:
1) What do call the machine that clear roads from snow in English? Plough?
2) What do yo call the embankment like string of snow by the side of the road that is the result of the activity mentioned above?
