Hello December!  It's -25 C this morning, and quite possibly colder at the worksite.
WWDDD?

Opsa

Very mild here, today. Close to 60 F. But tomorrow we go back to freezing! Glad I got the fireplace cleaned out!

Mild weather my hairy butt, 82F plus humidity! Can we trade a bit with our northern siblings?

You need a hairy butt to keep it from freezing off, up here.  I will admit that humidity is as formidable as wind chill in how the weather feels, but 82F doesn't sound so bad.  You sure you're ready for -25C? ;)

28-30C sounds certainly wonderful if you're coming from -25C. I wouldn't be able to tell though, because the lowest I've experienced is -5C (which isn't so bad once you start moving).

-5 can be quite chilly if the humidity's high; past -10C the temperature tends to dehydrate the air to the point that humidity is not a major factor.  -10C is cold enough to make you want to cover your extremities (hands, head, ears) unless it's sunny with no wind. It gets painful past -20C or so (and your toque, boots and gloves may prove insufficient).  At -30C, it hurts to breathe and your nostril hairs freeze to each other.

Summary:
-10C = cold
-20C = damned cold
-30C = %#&@ing cold
-40C = don't leave the house

OTOH, we get very low humidity, so if you are bundled up and protected from the wind, it's bearable if you are working or walking.

Back home in the summers, 30 - 40C+ was not uncommon, although it's borderline desert in some places and the humidity is fairly low.  30C and high humidity is quite comfortable for me, although I sweat buckets - just give me lots of water and a handkerchief and I'm fine.

Hoho...  we had plenty today.  Would post pics but I drove 400 km in it and don't need to see more at the moment.

It's 9:50 a.m. here now, and we have at least an inch sticking all ready. Normally we don't see snow like this here* until the end of December.

Here OTOH it has been warm enough for the 'tiels to sleep outside*. A week ago they were inside all day long.

*they are normally on the balcony which has a screen. If in the evening the temperature is forecasted to go below 72F they sleep inside in their cage and with us inside the house if the day is as cold/windy. The downside is that once temperatures go up again they want to be inside the house all the time.

About +5, and rain, rain ,rain interspersed with some fog.
I might sound like an old fogey, but I can distinctly remember winters some years ago when we had snow and cold weather in december, whic is infinitely preferrable to this grey misery.

Give me some snow!!!!

prediction for today: 8°C, cloudy but no rain (it still looks soaking wet outside though). Even in absence of wind the weather in the last days is purely aaaarrrrrgh! Wet and above zero often feels far worse than dry and far below.
