Sun is shing but wind still blowing in gusts.

To paraphrase Robyn Williams, it been hot, damn hot!

Having our hottest November on record, usually our second wettest month but after an excellent start in October, we've had stuff all follow on rain.  The place has got very dry over the last couple of weeks and in the last two days the various state fire authoorities, at least in South Australia, Victoria and New South Wales have issued their first "code red" or catastrophic conditions fire alerts for various parts of their respective states, using the new national alert  system developed after the Black Saturday fires back in February.  We are expecting a change here in Melbourne today and allegedly we will be getting some good rain over the weekend.  I'll believe it when I see it...

Despite thread title, Canadian weather has been boring around these parts lately - not exceptionally cold, mostly sunny. Need to be a bit colder, actually, to keep my trucks from getting stuck in soft ground.

Rain indeed. It's been a dry hurricane season but they're saying we'll get more rain in December.
