LOL  I've had my first Happy Valentines "message" in about 45 years !!!  and to think last year I was being rude about the event.

.....still I am having to give myself the flowers, cards, chocs, meal and stare lovingly into my own eyes in the mirror.......

On balance I still think this event is rubbish  

What we really need is a festival to celebrate love's many torments. Bring on Unvalentine's Day


Actually, what I want is a special day for SINGLES when everyone else in the world gives them the GOOD attentions lovers have and all the MATERIAL presents they miss out on and have to buy for themselves or go without. Oh and while I am at it, how about a special day for Refugees, assylum seekers, starvation victims, and .............. Grrrr!

It's not quite the same thing, but how about Black Day?

Black Day (April 14) is an informal tradition for single people (a.k.a. Unit Solo, Korean: 솔로부대) to get together and eat noodles with black bean sauce in South Korea, sometimes a white sauce is mixed because those celebrating the Black Day didn't experience the White Day.

The idea is that those who didn't give or receive gifts on Valentine's Day or White Day can get together and eat Jjajangmyeon (짜장면), Korean noodles with black and white bean sauce (hence the name), to commiserate their singledom.

Y'know, if we was still involved with the noodle-based internet meme, it would be fun to hand/mail out Chapagetti to singles for Black Day.
