Now the sky is clear enough to see the stars (which is not easy in the big city in the first place).

Where I used to live was wonderful for stargazing, as it was a smallish village with little light pollution. There were places you could go with almost zero light pollution, save for the chav town several miles away. It was glorious. Now I live in a town, i'm limited to what I can see, but it's still not too bad. It's mainly the dimmer stars which cannot be seen as well.

Weather's been up and down, but generally humid and warm, with the odd shower.

Serious flash flooding in Herefordshire, Gloucestershire, Worcestershire and even as far as parts of Birmingham.  Roads closed, abandoned vehicles everywhere, homes flooded.  Herefordshire Council advises essential journeys only.

We're fine; we didn't know about it until people in the village told us to listen to local radio.

For those who are unfamiliar with the area, it is all around our village, in parts quite close, but mainly to our north and east.  We couldn't easily get to Cap'n B's house had we been planning to.

The second half of yetserday was all rain. Now it is sunny but all hells is expected to break loose in the evening (rain, hail, storm)

Sorry David. Sounds frightful.

Bit muggy in London. 28o, (what people here call hot, but isn't really in my book), not much sun, not quite as humid as yesterday. No sign of rain at all.

The flash flooding spread further north and did a lot of damage.  Both main railway lines to Scotland were blocked by landslides, also various motorways.  It's gone this morning - until next time.

Neither hail, storm or rain have yet arrived.

Still waiting.
Fortunately, severe flooding has not been a problem here for centuries.

We had a fast and quite furious storm blow in Friday night, which cut our electricity out until Saturday night. There are lots of people still without power. We've been having less fortunate friends over to chill out and power up their devices.

Today is sunny and hot and humid again.

We had some thunderstorms in the last few days. One window broke when a sudden gale passed by without warning (no wind at all on ground level before and after).
