Opsa

The Opsalette applied to Governor's School camp by writing an essay. This is a free two week summer camp offered to gifted students. We couldn't afford regular camps for her, so this sounded like a possibility. She chose to write about Antoine de Saint Exupery. Her idea entirely, even though she's only ten. (She's in love with The Little Prince.) Kids from five counties applied. Only 80 were chosen. I just got a letter saying she made it in. I'm so proud of her!  :D

Congrats !!!!

I read The Little Prince as a child - loved it.

            Way to go Opsalette--- Congratulations!

I was thrilled to get a mothers day text from a dear, dear friend that i'd almost lost contact with because last time I fried my phone her info wasn't saved to the SIM card-- i'd emailed all sorts of random emails hoping one was still in use by her but no reply-- thankfully her daughter who can text with fingers and toes on 4 phones at once has her phone programmed to do things like send messages automatically (or maybe she just sends them for her mom) on special days-- and well now we are in contact-- she thought i'd gone to Uganda or somewhere( I wish).  :thank_you:   :toadfishwink:  this gal (really a true lady) and I team student taught in Dr. H's physical anthropology class one year--- it was trauma for the other students but we had the best time(pssst  they are laughing again, are they reading our papers and laughing?)-- especially on the fieldtrips we'd lead.

Fascinating.

The short intro is in fact tediously long.

I gave up focused listening/watching at the vatican having 94 people using computers - but some of the later stuff was informative.

Re. load, guess it depends what resources he has behind him.

I was disappointed not to be able to dive straight in and get going, but presume that may come along later after I've gone to sleep.

Wonder what competition he has?

Now, aint that cunnin!  ;D

I don't know whether this is good news or not, but my darter and I auditioned for the community theater's summer production of "The King and I". She snagged a princess role. They gave me Anna! I am rather petrified that I am too addled to learn all those lines at this stage of life. But I'll try. It's only amateur theater, what can they do? Fire me?

Apparently when the Thai royal family visited our Queen she gave strict instructions not one note of it was to be played. I supect she thought they'd have heard it before...

Are you opposite Yul Brynner?
The angels have the phone box

Opsa

Yul Brenner is toadily awesome!

I am playing opposite one of my very best buds. He and I have always only been the goofballs of the chorus. They may have finally found a way to get us to shut up!

When I checked bing, we were at number eight, but still on the first page, which is pretty impressive!

Still 4 here. Bing seems more geographically sensitive than Google. Perhaps Olde Englande institutions like monasteries get a priority boost.

I get 4 here as well; perhaps not sensitive down to 60-70 miles or so ;)

What the hell is Bing anyway?

Well done Opsa.

No good news here.
