My issue with the Euro isn't really at the consumer level.
It's more I see it as an instrument of federalisation and the creation of President Barosso's "What we have is the first non-imperial empire".

(You can tell he's a baddy or why is he named after a renegade Gallifreyan Lord President in Dr Who?  )

Also I'm not convinced the one size fits all monetary policy does constituent countries any favours (Italy, Portugal and France spring to mind).
It kind of surprises me that my more liberal friends are usually pro-EU, though it is anti-devolution and has economic policies that have maintained high unemployment in large areas (indirectly, through inappropriate interest rates).

According to The Torygraph we're all doomed. If Bernanke keeps interest rates low to solve the liquidity crisis then the Arabs and Asians will stop buying US Treasury bonds, and there'll be a recession.  If he keeps them high there'll be a recession anyway. Buddy can you spare a  renminbi?
