Actually the Thames barrier was designed so that the river would flood on my bit, which it regularly does; the tow path and the riverside pubs go under, but it doesn't creep as far as my road. All the houses along the tow path have little flood barriers. I think it's only been bad enough to actually get into the houses once in the last 30 odd years, so I guess the Thames barrier is sufficient. It does sometime flood badly just beyond the next bridge though. However, depsite vey high tides, which we have at this time of year, the rain has not been too bad and we have had no warnings, yet.

Well, thank goodness for that.

We are expecting a nice snow here today, but so far it has just been very gray and gloomy with a smattering of sleet and fine snowflakes. I am hoping for prettier later.

Unchanged nice spring weather

The snow that once was white and soft is now brownish grey and hard as rock.
We've had more than a week of thaw now which has turned the surroundings from winter wonderland into a dirty depressing mess.

I love snow, however my opinion about ice is that it should cover lakes in the winter so one can skate (which is optional). Not cover pavements and parking lots and there by make skating (without skates) mandatory...   


The weather service is warning about a new snowstorm and about 30cm of snow in some parts of the country... but I don't think that will hit Stockholm this time.

Sun has gone and now we just had a short graupel shower with a hint of thunderstorm

Drove back from Exeter in rain, now here it's a howling wind but not raining for once.  Widespread flooding all along the route, but only one road cut which we would have taken, and we'd planned for that one.

Most of the clouds are gone again and the sun just went below the horizon

Sunny here today, but brutal wind. Not nice for going out for groceries, which I need to do.

Grey, grey, grey and wet and foggy. Don't think we will be able to see much of the fireworks tonight -and there is also a forecast of rain during the night. Meh. I wonder if there are any cheap seats on the next flight to Kiruna?

Same here apart from there being no fog yet (all the gunpowder will provide for that in the evening). Similar forecast too.

Slightly cooler, humid, and increasingly windy. Good to catch a cold, so to say, but not wintery at all.
