Weather here in Kiruna is about -6 degrees, a soft breeze and a delightful covering of snow. Lovely winter weather! The drawback, I suppose is that there is less than six hours of daylight with the day growing about 10-15 minutes shorter every day up to the midwinter solstice. Come mid-december, there will be no sunrise at all and a continous polar night for about a month. Well, there is always the aurora borealis to light your way.

...and just think of the nightlife!

The expected nor'easter must have missed us. It's been cool and breezy, but nothing like the storm that scraped us last week.

Bright and breezy. Warmer temps expected this weekend. In the US it is Veteran's Day weekend, which is celebrated with a Monday holiday. Good timing this time around!

It might even be clear enough to see the Leonids.

QuoteIn the US it is Veteran's Day weekend...

We have Remembrance Day on the nearest Sunday to 11th November, which was the day of the armistice ending WW1.  This year, the Sunday and the 11th coincide.  There are ceremonies everywhere and in London all the royals and VIPs parade in Whitehall and observe two minutes' silence at 11am.

Griffin NoName

Unfortunately I always miss the 2 minute silence as I am asleep. Whether I am also silent, I don't know.

Swato, just checked my eye teeth - they look fine to me - but they would, wouldn't they ;). I am actually going to ask the GP for blood tests as I feel extra crap.

It be durn-tootin cold here, to my way of thinkin', but she'll get colder soon enuff...

Q: Why is the heating bill so low on the new place?

A: Because temp is pre-programmed to 60, "morning" "day" "evening" or "night". Oh, sure, one can stroll over and click it up a couple degrees, but as soon as we reach the next pre-programed day slot, right back down to 60 it goes again.

Lets exchange. In my office the ladies have the AC at 80F all the time, thankfully I don't have to go dressed with a suit or the cleaner bill would kill me.

Miloch the Great and Terrible (aka Moche or Tikken) has been snuggling up rather close. I've woken up unwittingly spooning a tikken who decided to crawl in under the covers to leach some body heat. ::)

Tikken! I used to have a cat we called Tikken. Someone thought we were saying "chicken", and after that she was known as "the chicken".

Kittehs is excellent hot water bottles!

It's quite damp and chilly here today. I need to go find th'opsacat and see if she wants to sit on my feet.

Aggie

Ayuh, he gets called "the Chicken" too...  I told him that as long as there's plenty of food, I'll keep feeding him chicken. If there's no food, he's going to be my chicken.  Four drumsticks... ;)
