The new Dr Who.  I'm now awaiting Piece's review ;) .

No spoilers.

I thought the first episode was quite weak. I enjoyed the Dr Who Confidential more........ the small girl gave a really excellent performance.

Apart from that, I spent most of the time trying to work out if Matt Smith's eyes are set too close together which is usually unattractive but if so in his case is not so (at least IMO) and wondering whether prisoner numbers ought to start at one - although that would have spoiled a joke.

Well, according to the preview I saw, he was brandishing a -- handgun.

In a nod to a previous thread, I would say that a sidearm is not appropriate for the Doctor; indeed, it would not be inappropriate for someone to relieve him of it.

On a related note, this:

Does that include or exclude the appropriateness or inappropriateness of his screwdriver?

Love the video.

That is the question. Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer the slings and arrows of outrageous Doctors, or to take arms against a sea of aliens, and in opposing, exterminate them.

And we can only hope he makes more videos.   :)

Not in the first of the new; sure that wasn't the last of the old?
Unless it was in the preview bit after the end of the episode (which my freeview recorder cut off prematurely...).

Never ever let your freeview recorder have control of time of programme end

Too true!  And now and again the damn things start late as well (or many minutes early).

Griffin NoName

Yes, it's odd isn't it. One of mine usually does a little warm up session where it thinks to itself and hums a bit before starting to record. The other can never make up it's mind whether to record the programme title. Goodness knows how unpredictable life will be when we have more home robotics.

Arrgh. It did it again. Just as T.D. was taking a phone call from W.S.C. in the preview.

Had to use iPlayer to see it.

I really must read the recorder manual and find how to wrest control of time from it.

Okay, I freely admit I'm seriously behind the times, but I'm finally catching up to someone called "Lady GaGa" on YouTube.

My one-word reaction?  'Interesting'

At least she can carry an actual tune...

:)

Apparently, she's the hottest thing in 2009.... and I missed the whole shebang.

Sometimes, being an old fart has minor advantages.
Sometimes, the real journey can only be taken by making a mistake.

my webpage-- alas, Cox deleted it--dead link... oh well ::)
