Colin, the whale who believed that a boat would be his mother, and it has been killed from these scientists who cannot give the milk to a young whale.
Pittwater, Sydney, Australia.22th august 2008.

Dear Colin, I hope I will not confuse a boat with the Mother, when I'll die.

I am going to find a url link for Colin - I will update this post with it.

Welcome home E.Raser - study boats carefully - some have pirates - some have scientists.

Lost baby whale euthanised in Australia

Bluenose - DaveL - what on earth is going on in Australia?  Thank goodness E.Raser has brought this problem to us here at the Monastery.

Hopefully they will learn from the way things went.

It sounds like the end was not easy.

I bet they didn't try fixing a false bottom (with external teats) filled with milk to that ship.

A whale summit?  Always wondered what the view from the top of a whale would be like.

Obviously the reasons for not feeding her are notoriously absent. I would guess that nobody wanted the responsibility nor foot the bill for trying to save her and the cheapest solution was implemented.

I've read (elsewhere) that a group was trying to do exactly that, but were disallowed. :P

I don't know the details.

As I understand it, the Parks and Wildlife people were acting on the best advice they had available.  They tried to take the animal out to sea a couple of times to find it's mother or to see if it might get adopted by anothe pod, but to no avail.  From what I could see, the people who were allegedly trying to come up with feeding arrangements seemed more intent on having a go at the people from Parks than anything else.  The "equipment" they were proposing was pathetic - how they though it would work is beyond me.

I believe that a dead whale has been found floating off the south coast of NSw and that the authorities are going to attempt to get a DNA sample so they can see if it is the baby's mother.  A PM is being conducted on the baby whale to see if they can identify why it was abandoned, I do not know the results yet.  Of course, if it turns out that the mother had died for some reason, that would explain why it was alone.

Collette should drink 230 litres of milk a day x 365 = 83.950 litres = 90.000 $
and the bill could be about 500.000 $ for 1 year.
The yacht of Flavio Briatore is for rent at 245.000 euro/week and to go to petrol station are 270.000 euro.
So...1 year of life for Collette = 1 week for the yacht Force Blue. :-\ :-\ :-\

There is an article of Prof. Giorgio Celli on the newspaper Il Resto del Carlino ( how many $$$$$ ????? )
He writes that whales often love to scratch themselves on the ships, and we do not play God, because lost cubs must die, and we have invented the public moral, we, not God  . :o :o :o :o :o

Anyway I believe that in one month I will not remember more about Collette, except the fact of identification, outside conscience, of a boat in the mother.
Because when I'll die I do not want to follow a plate of spaghetti, even if I like them .

Oh my god I do not believe it...I thought British TV was bad enough...Look I've got Germans staying with me...Leave it out with the Nazi references you bunch of trouble makers!!!!

Is that the room with the Victoria Beckham waxwork?

I do hope you are on your best behaviour and aren't doing a Basil Fawlty.
We had German exchange students staying when I was about 8 (they were university students). They used to let me listen to the police (not the band) on the radio in their Beetle. Would pinch my box of Rice Krispies though (apparently breakfast cereal was a novelty to Germans in the 1960s). They were great fun and very polite; though the bloke would make strange crashing noises in the middle of the night as he negotiated his  way through the house in the dark to the girl's room. Years later I learnt eventually my father had tactfully made it clear he didn't care if they slept together as long as they didn't break any more furniture during the foreplay.
That's my recollection of the Swinging 60s...

E !

It is very good to hear from you again , although unfortunate that you bring sad news .

I was hoping the last video you posted back there was manipulated by a computer program , but it was all true .I feel those marines got off lightly , there ought to be a website devoted to keeping track of people like them .
If they can do such a thing to a poor little puppy , what else are they capable of ?

Opsa
