It's Friday evening and the

Last Post

doesn't WANT to go to work.  So it will stay home with me.

Fortunately, I rescued the LP, and took it boozing instead.

Last _{this is taking ridiculously long to type} Post

Taking advantage of all y'all's absence to grab the last post and slink away under cover of darkness...

Fortunately, as I'm partial to cats, I've managed to acquire a pretty good ability to see in very, very dim light ^{_{(and yes, I _do_ wear sunglasses at night-- yellow-tinted shooters' glasses to be specific.  Cuts the oncoming traffic glare immensely.  And I can pretty much ignore the selfish b~st~rds who won't dim their brights...)}}

Using said ability, I'll just nick the Last ^{_{dim light}} Post as you flee.  By the time you get into the light, I'll be long gone...

I told the Last Post to "Run toward the Light!", and now I have it safe.

Mmmm, the Last Post does not like bright lights, so I shall be taking the Last Post into the shade of several very large, very dense forests.

The Last Post was lured by a trail of bread crumbs and is now shut up safe in my cupboard.

Utilising the mediums of the drill and saw, I have released the little beggar. In gratitude, the LP is coming back with me.

Weeeellll, since the Last ^_ethereal Post is basically an immaterial concept, it easily passes through the walls of an otherwise solid safe.

And  now resides with Me.

While we were at bloody but nice words (like exsanguinated): What about disembowel? (btw, the German word for that is 'ausweiden'; has a nice ring too)
