The bull got killed by the next torero in line. The injured torero will likely live but be maybe too traumatized to get back into his job (according to his doctor).
The bulls may be not as shocked about that as the fans.

Defenders of bullfights claim that the fighting bull has it far better than the ordinary bovine. Growing up in luxury (from the cow perspective) without having to work until they have reached their full potential. Then a relatively quick end.
Re-use is not possible since the animal learns in about 20 minutes that the man* is the target not the waved muleta. After that it's close to suicide to fight it. For that reason bulls that have been used in training get their tails cut, so they are immediately recognised.

But there is a more humane way where ideally neither man nor bull are harmed. Here some videos can be found:
