How can you compare kids to parrots? It's like when I complained to my neighbour about the massive dog that has moved in downstairs that I was/am absolutely terrified of big dogs, and she told me that was equivalent to her dislike of children.

As for comparing kids to parrots, it is estimated that an African Grey has the abstract reasoning of a 5 year old kid and the emotional intelligence of a 3 year old (plus the ability of contextual speech).

My five year old granddaughter does reasoning. She asked what I do online. I said that I talk to people who have problems (eg. my counselling). I asked her could she think of any problems they might have. She thought for a long pause, and then said - not having enough money.
