A bit of nice snow yesterday and today. Not going to last, alas!
Wet Silvester ahead.

The aspitriglos is edible though I do not actually recommend it.

Got a good dump of snow after Christmas, and the temperature dropped soon after, so it should be here to stay.

Tomorrow it will be 6oc at Midnight. Which will ge good for first footers.

Capitalism spoils things as usual. For the first time ever you have to buy a ticket to see the London fireworks display on the Thames. However, I can see them from my kitchen window for free.

Here in the United States we refuse to go Metric like nearly all the Globe--;therefore I was about 50 degrees F today , sunny. Very nice outside.

Griffin I would dearly love to see those fireworks over the Thames from your kitchen window one day.

First snow and quite a lot of it.

What a waste! It's +3°C outside and nothing (but wet pavement) will be left by daybreak.  :(

We, supposedly have snow in the north, but no idea if it has actually happemed. Vague suggestion of a scattering of snow in London, but I haven't heard any falling ;)

What is this snow you talk about, much less falling from the sky?

We are in the low 70s F/low 20s C here, which is a much needed relief from the heat.

We've had a steady smattering of very pretty, very geometric snowflakes over the holidays, with a couple of decent snowfalls. The ski hill's in great shape; I've put in 10 days of skiing so far.

After a December that felt more like spring (+15°C at times) we have a very unpleasant early January. Although it is barely below zero, the wind is icy (the type I call x-ray wind).
No snow in sight, alas!

Meanwhile the North Pole witnessed for a time temperatures 50°C above normal due to a never before witnessed freak weather pattern (a record breaking pressure differential sucking warm air up from the South)

Here it just went down below 70F/21C since Thanksgiving. Cold for my birds (but not for me).

Like Swato, we had 15o hot December. And the worst floods, hmm, well since last year. Also as Swato says, it is now unpleasant.
