Spring has really sprung around here...

Coltsfoot, Violets, Gagea (I think it's called Yellow Star-of-Bethlehem in English) and Scilla are flowering and the pennyworth is budding.

It all happened very fast and it's far too early, no pollinators out and about yet and we have at least 2 more months left when sub zero temperatures during the night is completely normal (not every night but a week here and a couple of days there).

After a period of almost perfect weather we have now a weather change every few minutes with a (tiny) bit of sleet thrown in for good measure.

Starts out on the cold side-- the I-want-my-jacket-cold.   By noon, it warms up, and I turn on the van's A/C.

(luckily, it works this time-- it had been protesting a week or so back, and refusing to come on.  Hillbilly roof syndrome. ::)  )

How can there be +13°C in Central Europe at this time of the year?
The current forecast for Christmas is rain at +11°C

The only thing white was a bit of ice pellets (precipitation lasting maybe 5 minutes) the day before yesterday.

Ayuh, we are warm and unlikely to have a white Christmas here as well.
WWDDD?

Somehwere in Germany it is even +16°C despite a dark and stormy night.

Day temperatures in the 80s F/upper 20s C, going down to 70F/20C at night. Supposedly will go back in the evening to 60sF/15C+ but still up to 77F/15C. Granted, I'm in south FL, but still it's getting hard to keep the AC off during the day!

We've been having same temperature as early November, sometimes +12 C. +13 C. But days interspersed with +6 c ish. Quite odd really. Can't make its mind up.

Somehow there was snowfall during the night.
But it's above zero and now one can watch it melting.
What a waste!

It's been snowing in the North (of England, Scotland's already had previous snow this year) here. (But of course the North never really exists for us Southerners). Seems to be at least as far south as Derby.

We had a semi white Christmas slightly south of Stockholm, a thin layer of snow and frost and -6°C/ 21.2°F.

Today it was even colder -10.5°C/ 13.1°F still very little snow though.

Icy warnings for London but not snow. More snow elsewhere.

Yesterday (Monday, Dec 29) it was not that bad-- hovering around 43F/6C.  The high was around 55ish/13C.

As I was reading the latest (to me) comments?  I had me a look at my weather panel (yes, I have a geeky weather panel that gives temperature, pressure, and relative humidity--inside and out.

Temp outside is a chilly 30F/-1C.  Humidity is a wet 76% outside, but a dry 21% inside.  I've got a rising pressure graphic, indicative of possible rain?  If the humidity remains high, that is.

It's been gloomy since Dec 21, but Monday (yesterday) the Sun showed her lovely face for the first time in days and days.

Kitty was perched on his "Lookin' outside at the backyard, Feelin' the warm sunny" place.

Or?  Purrrfect Weather for a CatNap.
