The San Francisco Torch run was another embarassment it seems. They changed the rout last-minute, so the torch bearer ran unmolested but also with about nobody noticing.

It is supposed to take about 12 weeks for the Torch to cross China --- wonder how long it will really take- and will it make it-one good bucketfull of water well aimed could do it (even with the gas(? fuel???) flame and anti-breeze technology in it).

I strongly suspect that the China run will go smoothly as far as the outside world is concerned.

Remember, this is a government that willingly sent tanks against college students who were armed with rocks.   And used those tanks and fired on the rock-throwers with machine guns.

No, I imagine any possible hint of protest will be met with .... what? Something.  Not good.
