In Berlin many still refer to the Frankfurter Allee as Stalinallee since that's the name it had when it made history (the 1953 uprising against the communist regime started there).

With other names there's a cop-out because one can find untainted historical figures of the same name. Again in Berlin many street signs have a note attached explaining who the person was. Don't like Karl Marx the political philosopher? What about Karl Marx the composer of sacred songs instead? That trick saves a lot of money (no need to change address for example).

Nietzsche and the Jews is a minefield. From what I read he started as anti-Jewish but for completely different reasons than the usual. Not because they refused to become Christians but because Christianity (that he disliked intensely) grew out of Judaism. In his later years he repeatedly complained that the new antisemites (who declared race not religion to be the main thing) were abusing his words for their "race fraud" and even called himself an anti-antisemite. He still harbored some anti-Jewish prejudices but also honored their contribution to German culture. This could result in quotes like that the antisemites could not forgive the Jews for having spirit and money. (spirit in the context meaning both intelligence and culture and specifically in Germany)
The reception is therefore quite diverse with both Jews and Jew haters claiming him as one of their own or the total opposite. And I read that there were and are fierce debates with all sides accusing each other of extreme bias in dealing with this subject, ignoring those parts that would not fit their opinion and exaggerating the parts that would.
Myself being no expert on Nietzsche (I read the Zarathustra once but that's about it) I cannot give a really informed answer which side is more wrong (let alone right).

I find it interesting (and amusing) that the importance of philosophers is heavily related on who uses their thesis (or more exactly, the fitting pieces) to advance their [usually awful] agenda, without understanding (or wanting to understand) the whole picture of what is being said.

At this point and after listening to the ideologue troll of the tech bros, Curtis Yarvic, I believe that we are in more trouble than what I expected initially. I no longer think I can predict what is going to happen here, but as time passes by, the more I think about it, the sub-plot of Civil War may be more and more likely.
