Before He Trombone made the term 'fake news' popular over here, 'fake' was used in Germany with a more narrow meaning of 'made up, looking real at first sight but at closer inspection/second view obviously not AND intended as such'. In other words we used it more in the sense of spoof than forgery or fraud.
My stuff is intended to look halfway genuine at first sight but with in-jokes in them.
E.g. a layperson could mistake the Phaeton vase painting for a genuine antique but anyone knowing Greek would recognize the inscriptions to be spoofy.

I just finished the translation of my satyr play into English.

Could someone here be so kind as to check it for grammar mistakes that cannot be excused by poetic licence?
In particular I am uneasy about the choice of correct tense in places (when to use simple past, present perfect, past perfect)
I tried to stay as close to verse by verse as possible without the translation being in verse itself (apart from Silenos' elegy and the exodos of the satyrs) but not fully prosaic either.

Here's another one of my fake Greek vase paintings.
In case that is not clear, Hermes is based on Heintje ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heintje_Simons ) and Apollo on Karel Gott ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Karel_Gott ).
Since over here Gott is particularly know for the title song of the German version of Maya the Honey Bee ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maya_the_Honey_Bee ) and the mother of Hermes is Maja, there is even a connection (and thus a picture of a bee included).
