I was actually thinking on that and the amount of antimatter used. Imagine a small magnetic bullet with a fixed amount of atoms inside, the annihilation will be quick but the amount of antimatter is what makes the difference, it doesn't have to transform the target fully into energy, but just a fraction, plus the explosive energy and radiation.
