The polearm-wielder bowdlerized that part significantly. I guess even on the Elizabethan stage it would have been difficult to depict the manners of disposing of the corpse. A verbal description would not do it justice, esp. because it would require the perpetrator to tell the story twice, once how it actually was to the audience and again as a riddle to the other guys on stage.

An imo very nice movie based on the original story is Prince of Jutland(1994).
A surprisingly high number of today very famous actors in it (a lot of them at the time still early in their career).
