And some of the corporations in some of these countries are working hand in hand with them (mutually beneficial). No need to hire 'respectable' goons like the Pinkertons as they did at home in the first gilded age.
And with guys like Sheldon Adelson (who already spend more than 30 million US dollars on this election in favor of Mitt) I simply have to assume that on location they are indistinguishable from the organized crime or they could simply not exist. And no gambling empire without associated fresh flesh trade.
