I just notice that the 'high' broadcast channels have moved in style and partially in substance towards the 'low'. Also there are slightly fewer of them but lots and lots more of the latter these days as compared to 10-20 years ago. And some of the good stuff will die out with the people that do it (some of which have done it for decades now and are in some cases already beyond retirement age) and some stuff already has due to final exits. It is always depressing when the highpoints of the radio week are the 'from the archives' segments.

Well, the chastising strongly depends on the circumstances.
Traditionally it's not the whoring around that gets a priest in trouble but getting the idea to stick with a single female or worse to try to make that official.

Well, the church did something about the other things. The whorers could remain in place much longer while the others had to move more often.
Usually a priest gets moved automatically after a certain time period to prevent them from getting too attached to the flock (no sexual connotations). Otherwise there'd be the risk that their loyalty to the hierarchy could be undermined by loyalty to the laypeople in the parish. A harmless whorer would be more dependent on his superiors to leniently ignore his deeds and so more reliably obedient. A serious pervert on the other hand endangers the hierarchy itself and cannot simply be dropped either (and can use that as a lever). So the perv will have to be provided with new hunting grounds far more often.
