Listen to Rightwingers. That will make your blood boil. The heat emissions should be sufficient. But be careful, if you stand on frozen lakes/rivers/etc.
Possible backfure: The thought that THEY could take over could make your blood chill and freeze instead.

Every morning I sit in Mrs H's car and warm it up before she sets off to work.  Yesterday the car thermometer read -10.5°C / 13°F, today -8.5°C / 17°F.  Normal screen defrosting fluid doesn't work.  Luckily there's been no fresh snow for some time but it is pretty foggy.  As Grif said, Scotland is far worse off than us with hundreds trapped in their cars all day yesterday.

Well, it finally feels like we are in winter, 40F/5C this morning. They even called from the school district last night to warn about it and dress students warmly today.

That's fairly unusual for Florida, isn't it? I saw a story on (US) national news last night about the Florida strawberry farmers spraying their crops with water so that if they froze they would stay at the freezing point.

Still cold and windy here, but it doesn't feel as frigid as yesterday did.

These past two winters have been a bit on the colder side with "snow" (more like frost) in Orlando this past January. It should go back to 60s/70s in two more days.

My parents are on their way back from Turkey for Christmas. Apparently, there are two feet of snow and it's minus seventeen in central Scotland...

Yes, and according to the BBC this morning there are still people stuck in their cars and lorries since Monday morning.  And that's between Glasgow and Edinburgh, not in the wild parts.  I hope they're going to be able to get home OK.

Apparently the motorway between Edinburgh and Glasgow was open this afternoon.

We have bright sunshine and rising temperatures in London. No snow. 1 degree today, but 3 degrees tomorrow.

But the forecast as a whole says the cold snap (snap is now the wrong word) may continue through xmas.
