What happened to Goldsmith in the US?

Today in the Chilcott enquiry it came out that Goldsmith considered the Iraq war would be illegal, unti that is he went to America.

I would like to know who he saw there, and the arguments they use to persuade him that it could be legal. (Could be legal then seemed to get changed to it is legal on March 17).

This does not sound like to be a group of professionals, abiding by legel precidents, so much as tea party knitting circle where they discuss whether pattern changes would spoil the cardigan.

I wonder just how far the enquiry will go, because ifit went as far as it could mean war crime trials ought to be inevitable.*

*except for the back room boys re-writing the legislaition that makes such prosecutions a bit dodgy to get acted upon.
