COLD. FRICKIN COLD. Not bad in the morning, or in the evening. BUT ALL AFTERNOON LONG it's freezing. I need more layers. :P

Yeah, that was weird! One of my friends is at Rice, and I got a text from her crowing about it.

All my finals are all crammed together. As in, five finals in two days. I wish I had thought about this before I registered.

One of these people has to grow up. I'm betting on the 4-year-old.

Hey Stellina--- you want an 18 year old girl to add to the mix???? She come complete with her own very mobile loud mouth and ceramic hair straightener.
SHE MADE FRIED CHICKEN IN MY KITCHEN YESTERDAY AND USED EVERY DISH AND PAN IN MY KITCHEN TO DO SO AND I THINK SHE KILLED THE FISH WITH THE GREASE IN THE AIR AND I ACTUALLY SLID ON THE FLOOR WHEN I GOT UP TO GO TO WORK AND SHE WAS ASLEEP ON MY COUCH (AS ALWAYS) WITH ALL THE LIGHTS ON AND THE DVD PLAYER ON THE MENU 'PAGE' OF LABYRINTH PROBABLY FOR LIKE HOURS BY THEN.
anyway-- I can have her packed in 10 minutes
any takers????

Or better yet--- you come and live with me  ;)

A strange curse has been visited upon me. I was definitely overdue divine retribution in some form or other, but the exact nature of it has taken me by surprise.

It seems I break heat exchangers.  My car coolant has gradually been going down for months, despite changing the radiator. Now my boiler matrix is breaking down and leaking too, and we're talking £1500 (US$2250) to replace it (with an evil new condensing boiler featuring computers and software and other dangerous stuff computer programmers like me don't believe in).

Am I wasting my time suspecting and changing boilers, heater matrixes, core plugs and head gaskets? Is the real problem bad karma, not bad engineering?
How big a sacrifice is it going to take (given my atheist track record) to get the gods back on side?

Once I was really mad and pressed on a car window button and smoke came out of it and it never worked again! Maybe we've discovered an automotive equivalent to those spontaneous combustion people- maybe we're spontaneous automotive combustion people! Stay calm when in cars or ...BOOFAH!!!
