I just saw And The band Played On last night on Bravo . It was produced in about 15 years ago for television.
I suppose I missed it the first time around because for a period of about 15 years I avoided media of all kinds .
I did so because i felt i was reading the same things over and over ,  of hatred and intolerance , of pain and suffering , of greed,decadence and frivolity , of wars and rumours of wars . ( opps , drifting , i'll get back to that later )

I thought the film was outstanding , and stripped a great deal of people down to their underpants .
So many points in the film are worthy of threads of their own , I am so glad they named names .
Despite all that Gallo has done , despite his genius , I have  only contempt for his ego as portrayed in the film .

Gallo was the perfect asshole for the Reagan Republicans.

I worked in the floral industry. I knew a lot of people, lost a lot of friends...

Some of my letters to even THOSE guys ended up in my FBI file...

The Government Inspector (2005) Television film, Directed by Peter Kosminsky

NOT Gogol ~ it is quite alarming to find the play ousted by re-use of it's title for a different tale, Kosminsky's TV film heading the google list by far. Isn't there a law against it?

Kosminsky's has made my stomach hurt more than it was already.

I think the title thing is a general problem (for both movies and books, not to talk about paintings).
And then there is the problem of remakes.
