Oh, Scrib, that's excellent!  2) is good, but 1) will be fantastic if it comes off.  Fingers crossed for you.   :high5:

1. I may have swung an internship at a photography studio
2. Shopping on ebay has gotten me two clones of Apple products for a fraction of their legit counterpart's price ($25 for the SciPhone and $40 for the aPad). HELL YEAH.

Nice work!

I interned for a photographer and those were some very happy times for me. I wish you the same!

I have good news, too. You know I've been working on a little theater for our area. Well, yesterday a friend of mine said he had some old set pieces in a barn that needed a home. I went and looked, and even though they're a little dusty, they are very well made, and I can break them down into several flats. These would have cost us at least  a thousand dollars to build from scratch, and since I have only scratch to spend, I am thrilled to have this chance to get them.

Sounds wonderful!  :D

Asshat flatmate (who has been whinging and complaining to the landlord that we don't put the wheely bin out (wrong), don't put the recycling out on Tuesday nights (who cares, it's picked up on Wednesday morning, and Andrew used to put it out on his way to work on Wed. And anyway we took it to the recycling centre ourselves if it was full), wash too many clothes (No, seriously, he did. I spend the majority of my working week crawling through hedges, and Andrew cleans up oil spills for a living) and about a thousand other things has been told to leave.

Landlord was wondering if the house had turned into some sort of slum, came round to check. Found it was clean and tidy, but that Andrew and I were about two whinges away from finding something heavy and smashing it in his face, and told him that as he'd had no complaints about either of us from all the other people who have lived there in the past couple of years, he thought the problem was Liam's personality (or lack of it), and that it would be best if he left. Hurrah!

I remember the elderly lady who lived downstairs, who used to pound her tripod cane on the hardwood floors and scream through the floor that she would have me evicted because I WAS IRONING TOO LOUD!

When it got to be much too much, I'd drop the landlords a little note and they'd stop by and visit with her.

Hooray for your new-found freedom from oppression, Pach-Man!

My good news is that the church that has allowed me to use the schoolhouse on its property for my theater has given me my first stipend paycheck and reimbursement for materials. This makes me a professional community theater director, in that I'm now getting paid. Not that I could live off it, of course, but technically speaking. This is good news because I was down to four dollars in my account. Whew.

Alas, oppression hsn't quite ended yet, in that he has until the end of December to move out, but at least we have a timeline to work to (and we fully intend to make his life a misery, what goes around comes around comes around... If you can't run with the big dogs, don't piss on the tall trees...)

Congrats on the theatre Opas, sounds awesome.

I have a job! It doesn't start until January, but
I
HAVE
A
FRIGGIN'
JOB!

I am a glorified teacher's aide/tutor. I get $9 an hour and I pretty much set my own schedule. This is awesome.
