Imus ad magum Ozi videndum, magum Ozi mirum mirissimum....

Darlica

A documentary about the band Joy Division.

The film was interesting, well some parts of it at least, but the translation for the subtitles sucked "#¤$*% especially when it came to the lyrics.

As Joy Division played a major part in my late teens I still know most of the lyrics by heart, heck they was what sparked my deeper interest to understand and speak proper English, beyond the poor school English I had got by with until then.
Still, with that poor English I had back in 1993 I would have made better translations!  >:(

I better get down from my soap box, I ought to be asleep by now...
I think I'm going to take a trip down memory lane with my Mp3 player now, it's likely to pave the way for some interesting dreams. :)

On British TV at the moment there is about 59¾ hours a week* of programs about property; buying houses, fixing houses, rebuilding ghastly old ruins**.  Almost as bad as snooker or golf.
Mrs H is watching Relocation.  I'm going to break out the rum.

well, it feels like it to me

Sweet dreams.  Here's the radio spectrum from a dying star* to put you in the right JD frame of mind.  ;)

Beagle, did you know I've coveted a t-shirt with that album cover for years...

They had some for sale when New Order did their Get Ready tour (first time  since Ian's death they played Ceremony and Love Will Tear Us Apart on stage) but by the time I reached the merchandise table they where all gone. :-[

It was my PC backdrop for many years (apart from  the JD connection I briefly did time on a very minor student project at Lord's Bridge, so it was local history too).  I've seen bootleg T-shirts but not good quality ones. It looks far better on the album than in the book  :)

I did manage to squeeze in The End of Time part 2 and the regeneration. Left me with lots of questions. Like that comment on the hair.......... is regeneration always the same gender? If so, why?
1. Yes, so far.

2. That is not really clear.

Some past changes in Doctors spurred a great deal of speculation on whether, this time, he would be a she.  (There's been an ongoing "not a Ginger this time, either' joke, too.)  Looking at an alleged roster of potentials for this time around, I would really have preferred any of them to what I have called 'the creature' since he was first announced.

Time [sic] will tell if he lives up to the role.

He's got a tweed jacket just like mine.

Bob in a quantum-state-of-faith

Finally got around to watching the Star Trek Ultimate Prequel movie.

It was pretty good-- and they wrote it in such a way that they have more or less, freedom to write damn-all whatever they please...

:)

Next up:  Zombieland.
Sometimes, the real journey can only be taken by making a mistake.

Will be another month before that comes out here. Still not sure, whether I should buy it.
When at last will "I walked with a zombie" come out on region 2 DVD (and also the original "The Cat and the Canary")?
