Goatie, Goatie!!

Today, on the way to town, we passed a field FULL of your relatives! And they had LOTS and LOTS of babies!! And they were frolicking and having SOOOO much fun!!

And they were cute...especially the ones playing on the haystack, butting each other off the top of it.

Yes, in fact I DID make Dan pull over so I could watch the baby goats. :D

I just had to look up the "Friends of the Goats" group that the article mentioned.  Here they are (http://www.lyntongoats.org.uk/).

Goat, would you consider yourself "feral"?  If so, it seems you have a ready-made fan club.

Edit: this portion of their constitution is especially interesting:

Quote1. Aims
To promote the welfare and preservation of the feral goats which reside in the Valley of the Rocks, Lynton, through co-operation, education, management, fund-raising and publicity. Specifically, it is hoped to achieve this through: -

1. Working with the Lynton and Lynmouth Town Council, The Exmoor National Park and any other appropriate body to promote and ensure the welfare of the goats.

2. Informing and educating the community, including visitors, about the goats.

3. Raising funds in order to provide additional facilities for the benefit or care of the goats, or for such other purpose as will benefit the goats or the membership.

4. Publicising the existence of the goats, their history and progress, and of the Friends of the Goats society, and its aims, where that publicity would be of benefit to the welfare of the goats.

The society will also aim to represent the views of the majority of members of the Friends Of The Goats, on any issue which concerns or affects either the welfare of the goats or of the society.

Doesn't 'feral' stand for "Free Eats Roaming At Large"? ;D

According to the article, those people put their garden where Goatie's family has been for a thousand years.

Poor Goatie. All there is to do now is do like the US has done, and bundle them up on a reservation, steal their Goathnic identity, send them to special schools and turn them into a bunch of hairdressers and chartered accountants.
