Title: Migration
Post by: Griffin on October 13, 2023, 08:01:03 AM
We've moved the Monastery brick by brick to another island. The redecorations may take some getting used to. However, we should never run out of space again which is why we had to move.

While moving, we took the opportunity to refurbish the Monastery so things may look a little different. However, everything except avatars and attachments seem fine. I found some of the old avatars. To see/choose them -> profile -> select choose from gallery -> choose "Siblings".

When I try to save my profile I get an error message: HTML tags are not allowed.
I can't see any HTML tags anywhere though.

My avatar is #50 on the sibling list.

Welcome back. I'm afraid you will have to unpack your own bags as the squidlings are on strike.

I'll check your profile. Hmmmm. I can't see any HTML tags either. Could there be a / or < or br or something in your password or secret answer which obviously I can't see? If necessary I'll ask in the smf support forum.

Can you select it, scroll down and save?

I can select it but that seems not to be the problem. Even if I choose 'no avatar', I get the same error message. And no, there is no '<' or the like anywhere I can see.

This time I stayed logged in, so maybe slightly changing my password yesterday required the new login.
That change was possible, The error message comes only in the 'forum profile' section of the profile page.

There is a bug in SMF 2.1.4 (this latest version) such that quotes in profile cause the HTML error message. Both single and double quotes. Your profile has a field with a single quote - if you remove it/reword it then the bug should go away and save should work. It will be corrected in 2.1.5 but as far as I can see that is a long way off.

That seems to have worked. Thank you.
So, no 'don't'-s in the profil otherwise it doesn't work.

Hello again, Darlica!

You should find the step-by-step instruction about reinstating your avatar somewhere around here (in the last Post thread on October 15th)

Hello everyone!

My browser is telling me that this isn't a secure connection. Any ideas why? I'm not on a great connection so maybe it will clear the next time I'm on. My internet is the mobile network equivalent of dial-up most of the time.

Thank you Swato! 🌹

I guess I should change avatar to something elese probably a bear (became a mamabear when the cub was born). I'm still fluffy (and a bit fatter 😆) and the fangs are still there... The stripes seems to have washed out tho. 😉

It's good to be back!
