We need one of these.

Remember my complaint about my parents not wanting coffee from Muslim countries?
I brought home Sumatra.

In the original bag.

Didn't say anything.

They drank it this morning.

It was delicious.

I win.

Way to go!

They may not know they're being enlightened, but...they ARE drinking what you choose. (Or they can do without...) ;D

anthrobabe

yes we do need this

the system we use to 'look up' driver information takes the info as this---- last name then first name and date of birth as year then month then day
several of my officers refuse to call in the info in this manner --- and seconds count--- so I've gently reminded them over and over and over (it's called nagging)

well I hit upon the idea to just plug in what they give me and then let them figure out why they can't get a return on john smith  07071900
they are calling the return info in the correct and usable order

I Win!

Indeed! They'll get the message eventually.

My car was not running.  Through sheer force of will, accompanied by swearing while lying underneath it/on top of its engine (as well as a few new parts... but it was really just the swearing  ;) ), it is now running decently.

I win.

BTW - I am now convinced that before Daimler bought Chrysler, it was run by aliens.  I came to this knowledge when I realized that while the back bank of cylinders are bastards to work on for me, they would be no problem for a mechanic with forearms that were about 6-8" longer and fingers that were about 3-4" longer.  There can only be one possible conclusion:

My car was designed to be worked on by greys!

:o

That would explain a few things, I suppose.

More Muslim coffee. Delicious, tasty wonderful Muslim coffee. Oooh, supporting terrorists! Oh noes! :sad face:

Lots of good coffee coming from Muslim nations.

As for alien built cars...I think they make so much of that stuff inaccessible so you either have to pay a fortune for the special tools to reach the stuff or else pay a fortune for their mechanic (who has the special tools) to work on it.

Coffee?  They pretty much invented it.

As for cars....   DON'T lock your keys in a Santa Fe.  A model-specific special tool (or a VERY talented car-assistance-type-person) is required to get them out.  :P
WWDDD?

Scriblerus the Philosophe

Indeed, but I'm not going to remind them of that. I'm fond of my Kenyan and Sumatra mix, and I should like to be able to keep drinking it in the morning.

Or a handy rock...  ;)

Just be sure you know which window on your car is the cheapest to replace.  Sometimes this can be counter-intuitive, as a friend of mine found out last summer.   :(

Aggie

Isn't it typically the largest?  (also, the windshield is most likely to benefit from a replacement).  Little ones are generally expensive, as are ones with heater wires in 'em.

I have CAA, so I'd have to be pretty far out to resort to smashy-smashy.

Yeah... though smashing out the windshield isn't usually a good idea if you want to get to where you're going afterward without the cops taking issue with you.

My friend ended up smashing out the little side window on his Escape... only to find out after that all the fancy glued tabs on it made it worth $800, IIRC.   :o

When I still had CAA, I sometimes had to wait upwards of 3 or 4 hours for them, even in town, so smashy-smashy has a certain immediacy that appeals to me.   ;D
