I think it has more to do with commercial viability, actually.

I'm not actually much of a supporter of the hunt, but bristle at the misinformation presented by protesters and how much of the protests are based on 'cute factor'.

Perhaps because a hakapik evokes an incredibly barbaric an inhumane way to kill, even if supposedly isn't?

I think it's still in there from the year before, and the year before...

I likewise have issues with killing for fur only and not saving the meat (especially), but haven't been able to get a good handle on how much of the meat is actually used.  Wiki states that a pelt only accounts for half the value of a seal carcass, suggesting some of the rest is retailed (blubber almost certainly is, some meat appears to be used for pet food).

Maybe they should make the meat into mink chow?

I know that publications for the blind are expensive bu this seems excessive.
Soem DVDs these days have descriptive audio tracks for the blind. Why not do that fro prawn too.
