As the least musical person in the Northern Hemisphere, I wish I could sing. However, the only way I could do this is by changing my parents. And my utter lack of any musicality aside, I love them. Despite my father's epic snoring.

Perhaps you can, and simply don't know how; it is more common than you may think. Some lessons may help get the tiger, I mean the elephant out of you.

No, tried that.

At various times I have tried to learn the recorder, piano, drums, guitar and triangle. All teachers sent me out of the room.

As for the singing:

School put on a musical, Guys and Dolls. We had a brilliant Head of the Music Dept., so great teachers, equipment, facilities etc.

3 of the cast were in training for a career in opera.

Cast of 150 for the big chorus numbers.

I got told to mime, as I was putting everybody else off.....
