You? So cruel? How I suffer, my secret mine no longer, reduced to a cheap link on the internet. Would that he were mine, shoulds't I swoon and welcome joy. Ne'er hast spiritual humanism cut so deep.

I don't invoke either unless I have a relationship with the diety I am invoking- I will let others freely invoke in my presence however.

Is Billy Idol an authentic diety-- not sure????  :D
but he sure was a fine lookin bloke in his day. Possibly the sneer is attractive to  certain females of my species?

And some wonder why Goats have a reputation?

Sometimes I wonder if is it accurate to call SH a religion. Of course the "founder-RA Zorger" styles it as such and so it is- at least in name a religion. But it's not a deity religion, so?
I'm a part of the movement and all- the idea of bringing Humanism back to a soulful( but not necessarily as in something to go to heaven or hell soul) and spiritual ( but again not really a Deity type of spirituality) heading.
Does something have to be Deity based to be a religion, some call atheism a religion. Is it all in the definition of the word "religion" or can it be simply a simile for an organized movement?
Does anyone have any thoughts on this...

I don't think that "religion" and "organized movement" are synonymous... otherwise the Rotary Club would be a religion.

I believe there are a number of non-deity based religions.  I wouldn't number atheism among them, though.

My sister would affirm that the Rotary is her husband's religion  ::)

And my wife would probably say the same about me and auto racing.

Never mind - I withdraw my comment.  ;D

Celebration of human spirituality seems to have been confused with adherence to doctrine at certain points in history - not that that's all bad, as it defines spirituality for some. However, individual interpretations of spiritualiy should also be cherished and equally as valid.

Sometimes the most simple, uncomplicated moments in our lives are the greatest and most uplifing.

A spiritual organisation should facilitate and add fellowship, but shouldn't become authoritarian, just for the sake of it(IMHO).

A question.

If spirit is beyond human, does it incorporate all human?

that leaves me with further questions if the answer is yes
