I believe the strike was invented by the Israelites in Egypt. Withdrawal of labour and the formation of a picket line that exists to this day.

well he might have been between the rails and then services could have simply gone over him. Also if we had a bigger guage his journey would have been quicker leaving less time to get plastered.
