Spring-like weather hereabouts.   Nice, after the frosty days just past.  Sunday's supposed to be in the lower 70's (F).  Positively balmy.

Even better:   old man Sol stuck his face through the clouds, shooing them away.   I was sure he'd run off with the moon's daughter.
We've seen his face here too, Bob! Very nice after all the drear. We're only in the 50F's, but after last week's fridge factor it feels almost balmy here, too. Or maybe it's just me?

What many folk do not comprehend about Global Climate Change is this:  climate is basically a heat engine, who's main power-source is the sun, and who's main batteries/capacitors are the oceans, chiefly, the tropical-belt oceans (which, due to the layout of our land masses, has slightly more water than not).

But a giant heat engine moves the masses of air around a lot more, when there's plenty of energy to go around.   If you increase the energy-capacity in any way, then you get lots more air moving around, than when the capacity is diminished.

One excellent way to increase the total energy [to the system], is to figure out some way to keep the water-"batteries" from losing heat back into space at night.

A sure-fire way to do that?  Greenhouse effects.  Such as... increasing the percentages of gasses that block infra-red radiation (the chief way the oceans lose heat into space).

What happens when you get more energy available to the heat engine?   Much more air masses moving about the place-- and contrary to popular misconception?

Local temperature variation is mostly due to those air masses moving from one place to another (unless you live at one of the temperature-extreme areas yourself, such as the tropics or either of the north/south arctic areas).    With more energy available to move the air?

The net result:  both warmer and colder winters, as the capricious winds first move the cold air masses, then the tropical ones, and then the cold ones again back and forth across the intermediate lands.

Warm days mid-winter, followed by extreme cold days, followed by a warm snap and so on.

That would be fine, except that all this air moving around, tends to create tornadoes and hurricanes too....

.... meh.

As a result doubts in gravity have been seriously proposed (although at first they got mistaken for material from 'The Onion'). Ever heard of the 'theory of intelligent falling'? Admittedly it got started more by evolution opponents than climate change deniers but the overlap tends to be large in any case.

Still very mixed weather here and it's getting colder gradually (close to 0°C at night).

Plus, those that deny climate change tend to be full of hot air, which rises.

Rainy and mildish today, but colder and snowish tomorrow.

Supposed to have been sunny for the next few days.... but rain clouds are again threatening, putting the kabash on my plans (to replace a package unit).

Second day of above 40 C - no change due until Friday evening.  Already had several fires in this sequence, Weather Bureau says this will be the worst fire risk conditions since Black Saturday.  Fortunately high winds have not been predicted, but you never know.

I sure wish I could send you some of the rain we've had here, Blue my friend.

Sunny now but cloudy later with drizzle and snizzle.

Day three of the heat wave.  Monday go to 42, yesterday 43, today predicted to reach 43-44.  It "rained" yesterday afternoon.  Well, there was a couple of quick and light showers.  All they managed to do was settle the dust a bit and raise the humidity.  Thanks, weather gods...

So far so good on the fire front: there have been about 200 odd fires started in the state (mostly due to dry lightning strikes), but none of them are particularly serious as I write this.  The risk day will be tomorrow when the winds are now predicted to pick up.  After several days of baking in the sun, if a fire starts in the wrong place it might get rather interesting for some people.  Keeping my fingers crossed.

High winds the past few days.  Warm (for this time of year, high 40's F) but expected to get colder next week.

But the winds are seriously strong the past few days.   Blowing my work van all over the highway, if I don't watch it.

Got a dusting of snow last night. Today, sunny and colder.
