there are 4 too few strawberries on that cake...

but it looks lovely none the less.

just had a fabby birthday watching Radioohead in Manchester and I get back to a lovely virtual cake. what could be better (other than a real cake obviously!)

If you or any other Sibling comes to Sweden during summer I promise to make you a cake like that (perhaps not as pretty, I'm not a pro :-[ ), any other time of the year you will have to make do with straight chocolate cake or my (not very orthodox) raspberry Sacher Cake; heavy chocolate cake with home made raspberry jam instead of apricot marmalade and a good dash of (also home made) raspberry liqueur.  ;D

Thank you all.

Had a cracking time.

Two of my friends also have birthdays in June, and so we decided to have a joint party, and combine it with a Uni reunion. Richard's folks have some land in Aberdeenshire, so we went up and built a dirty big bonfire, barbeque with lots of food, plenty of beverages, organised a clay pigeon shoot, a PA system and fireworks. We told everyone in the nearby village, all the surrounding farms, the police, fire brigade etc.

There were people I hadn't seen for ten years turning up. Grand total of 74 in the end, and we proceeded to celebrate in style. Bonfire was lit at the culmination of the fireworks, all done to 'Ride of the Valkyries'. Already scheming for next year....
