Recently our Ministry of Defence has released a batch of files on UFO sightings, many quite entertaining.
The media have jumped on the story because a UFO was supposedly seen above the house of Michael Howard, a prominent Conservative politician.  Howard, who was once Home Secretary and later leader of his party, has always been portrayed as a bit creepy and the dreadful Ann Widdecombe said that he had "something of the night about him".  (And his father was Romanian!)
This makes me wonder just how many of our politicians have been abducted by aliens or are under alien control.  Some may actually be aliens ...   :scared:

It's the lizard people IIRC, the ones abducting, replacing and/or inserting politicians in the world to take it over.

As opposed to the greys that only abduct people to make fertility experiments.

Seriously speaking I'm open minded about UFOs and if there were indeed ETs coming here it would make perfect sense for them to monitor politicians, although one would expect them to be more careful.

As for the story, it sounds more appropriate for The Sun/National Enquirer than for the torygraph, I wonder what subscription paying members (hi beagle ;)) may think of that.

Maybe that's why GB was so keen to go on the Piers Morgan show !

"something of the night about him" is a bit rich coming from Ann Widdicombe.....  ::)

Yes, that's what I thought at the time.  Then again, 'something of the asylum' is more like her.  ;D

They'd make quite a good couple in an "American Gothic" sort of way.

I don't think our politicians can be aliens or they'd have beamed themselves up by now.  After all, after the election we'll either have American style public services with Swedish style taxes, or a good old-fashioned sterling crisis and IMF takeover. Beats me why they still want to win...

Yes, if I was a politician I definitely would not want to take over in May.  I'd let the other lot foul up.  Thing is, their lust for power is all that motivates them; they honestly believe all will be well if only they can get/keep their hands on power.
BTW this has been my worry about Obama all along.  It's fantastic that a black person has finally made president, but he's taken over such a can of worms that it'll be hard for him to come out of it well.  Then the racists will all say 'told you so'.

The country had to be in the dumpster for him to be considered in the first place, in fact he got elected because the market crashed badly and McC went out like an idiot saying that "the fundamentals of the economy were sound" the same day.

I don't wanna think how worse we would be if McPalin were in the white house. Possibly well on our way to indefinite martial law...

Yes, but it'd be religious martial law, so that would be fine.
I dunno if I agree about Obama, though.  He's a dignified, serious man with gravitas and that's more than either of our countries have had for many years.

I reckon Obama will be alright on the economy (largely due to the dollar's reserve currency status, and the EU, Japan and UK fouling up worse). I have less optimism for his achieving LBJ/Kennedy style domestic stuff; not sure he has the necessary cunning.

I still expect him to share Kennedy's fate.
I think the danger will be even greater, should he succeed with his agenda. A failed N-word might be allowed to survive to serve as an example.
I predict lots of 'reaped what he sowed (but WE are in no way responsible)' from the right afterwards.

Are you suggesting even for a second that voters take into account the actual merits of a candidate? In what planet are you living?!?!
:P

As for his fate, it's too early to tell, although I have to admit that there is certain foolishness about his safety awareness. I wonder what is about these guys that makes them think that they won't be touched or that it doesn't matter if they get killed, though. :-\

As for voters, you're right, of course, they vote the way they're manoeuvred into voting.  But in my own judgement the man is simply more suitable for high office than any we've seen in a long time.  He impresses me.
