3 box in drunk driver
Quote
Posted: April 16, 2008
Fredonia - When three motorists encountered a driver traveling recklessly on an Ozaukee County highway this week, they all had the same thought: This guy needs to be stopped.

And stop him is exactly what they did, using their vehicles to box him in at a stoplight.

Police say the driver they boxed in was heavily intoxicated, with a blood-alcohol content four times what the state considers evidence of intoxication.

None of the three motorists communicated with each other in any way, they said.

They just came together and made sure the driver could go no further.

I've had drunks at .32 in my holding cells--- very nasty, very nasty-- many simply become unconcious and then choke on vomit wasting even more resources as the ambulance has to be called then. If they could charge them with attempted murder no matter if they hit someone or something -but simply for the act of driving in this state I think it would help a bit. Oh and re-instate the 'drunk driver' license plate-- they were green and unmistakable. They were discontinued as they were an embarrasment (and tough on families that only had one car so sometimes the innocent would have to drive them)-- I say tough, don't get the plate if it will embarrass you or your family!

Good job and yes it is a wee glimmer of hope for humanity.

Wow, I really respect those other drivers for taking such responsibility.

Especially the guy in front of him! There was a chance Drunko would gun the engine anyway at that level.
Yeesh!

What is amazing, is that they all 3 had essentially the same thought about the situation.

The "lead" driver also reasoned he had a heavy, but rusty pickup that he was willing to risk, and was the one in front.

But, NONE of the 3 drivers communicated with each other until it was over.

That they all 3 acted as they did, sans-communication, and cooperated only PROVES that humans are a cooperative species.

Once again. :)
