Just two, but the lobes are rather well separated in the second one. ;D

I could change at will with effort, by looking at the shadow of the feet.  Otherwise I got distracted by the curvy bits* and couldn't change directions. Short-term memory seems to be a factor, too.... simply looking away won't change directions for me; a longer pause give a fairly random direction of spin.

*I can see how the legs and hips achieve the illusion, but the bobbly bits give the illusion of only working in whatever the current spin direction is.

We seem to achieve the same results with very different methods. When I wants her to spin counter-clockwise I spell a moderately complicated word (in English Swedish does not affect the rotation) out loud or try to remember phone numbers... addition and subtraction works too.
As soon as I "relax" she will go back to spin clockwise.

Confusing... I want to know how it's done!

She started out turning clockwise for me, then she changed direction, then changed again, then I found out what makes her change direction for me.

Going by this test my right brain functions dominate my left brain functions, at the initial phase, then if the right doesn't make it make sense the left side will take over trying to solve the problem (that what the left side does best after all).

I'm nor sure if this is a :daz: situation or a :goldfish: one...

;D

I'm a huge fan of Wallace and Gromit (especially Gromit :D ) and a fan of Nick Park and Aardman animation in general.

Check them out here: http://www.wallaceandgromit.com/

Movies / Animated goodness

I'm a fan of animated short films and movies. I'm not picky about genre as long as well executed and has a good story (or a really good excuse for a story at least ;) ).

This is a place for posting about your favourite (and not so loved) animated flicks long or short, discussing them and share your thoughts about them, new or old, computer animated 3D or old style cell animation, animé or Central European style puppet animation alike.
:D

I'll start with my latest favourite: Ratatouille!
The Pixar/Disney production about a little rat who wants to be a chef.
I love it! It has cute rats (I happen to like rats), is set mainly in a restaurant kitchen, has a good story and the animation is simply splendid.  It's so well done it will become a standard setter like Monsters Inc. was when it came. The level of detail is amazing whit out stealing attention from the story.

I can heartily recommend it. :kiss2:

The British author Doris Lessing has been awarded this years Nobel Prize for Literature.

Any thoughts?

Has anyone here read her any of her works like The Golden Notebook, Memoirs of a Survivor and The Summer Before the Dark?
I haven't read anything of her yet but I plan to.  Do you have a special book or short story to recommend?
