Guys, if I can persuade the others, with your permission, I think the others would make a fine additions to HOT. All good fellas and wonderful story tellers. If yes from both parties we will leave the old place for good.Whaddya say?

I'd certainly vote for them all anyway. Anyone who can run the London Marathon for charity, for example, certainly outdoes me on the altruism front.  Don't recall any of them picking a fight with, or flaming anyone (what sort of pirates are these?).
One for Darren and Sir F I suppose.  Make Black Bart promise to leave his cookbook behind though if all goes through.

N.B. not attempting to entice anyone away from the Venganza site. Personally I'd be proud to have them here whether or not they still use that site.

Thanks Beagle.

I don't want to lure them away if they are happy either. But you're right, I don't think we've ever fought...ever. We are a jolly bunch and the threads are always good value.

Right now those guys are the only thing keeping me there. But I've seriously had enough. Forget being a Mod...it's like working for Captain Barbossa.

I'll PM Griffin too...she knows them in person.

I also would vote for your swarthy band of brothers.  Just ask Black Bart to not simmer his fish head stew whilst he is online, sometimes the odor makes me a little queasy.  ::)

AYE-AYE CAP'N DAVE!!!

Oi miss the Pirates!  They've gone silent on Venganza as well.  They won't have the "mythology" link here, but that's hardly needed with those lads and wenches, as they've created their own.  If the Toadfish hold to the sea floor, the top o' waves be open for plunderin'!

Hi Dave L it is Calico Jack formerly known as Walk the Plank.  If Prince can change his name then why not I.  Lets hope we can get the Pirate Board up and running here.  It might be worth checking that there is sufficient bandwidth before Black Bart joins up.

Welcome aboard the artist (type indeterminate) previously known as WalkThePlank.  Loads of people here have changed their names having run away to become pirates to forget.

The first thing they forgot was that it was supposed to be the Foreign Legion.

Black Bart's padded cabin is bein' prepared.

Arrrgggghh.

I miss the pirates.

That's the one part of that forum that I could always read strictly for enjoyment, thus generally the last one read on a full day's reading. The Pirates embody a unique view of individual libery and an uncommon position of equality and personal tolerance of differences.

YAAAARRRR, sez I, bring th' scallywags on!!

I have not been on FSM for over a week but looking at it today without Dave L, Black Bart and The Black Spot most of the creativity on the Pirate Board has gone, though my infrequent ramblings will hardly be missed.  I have emailed Spot and Bart and I will phone Spot tonight and try and persuade him to join the revolution.

I'd welcome the scurvy rascals, as long as they promise not to have rowdy parties inside my head...  :P

Aaaarrggh. That will teach you the dangers of keeping an open mind.*

Glad to see The Black Spot on the crew list (I did too meet Elvis in that East Grinstead Burger King).

Oi've bin wooryin mesel sick o'er them ther Pirates. Especially with a brand new case in the Scurvy Disciplinary Court which may need to be ruled inadmissable to preserve the probity of Pirate life.

Hmmm wonder what probity means in Pirate?!?!

I very much support Beagle's sentiment - not wanting to encourage anyone to desert Venagnaza but extending a warm welcome to anyone who is humble and wishes to visit here.

Pirates seem to me to be extensively humble. Goes with the territory. One has to be humble when faced with the Mighty Ocean.

We may need to make it clear to Black Bart that Toadfish heads are off limits.

Goes in a deep trance to speak to the ancestors....
Okay. "probity" in pirate means "It is likely, but I won't commit to saying it is definate."

YArrrr...it be truly charitable of youse monks to share yer humble monastery with us. We'll be putting a large slice of treasure in yer charity box. You'll be able to build a king size squiddly tank with the dubloons we's be given yers.

Keeping the lads away from Fif's might be a hard one to enforce though.

Y'aaarrrgghhhh, just wanting to chime in on the welcomes to the pirates.

Everyone is welcome in our sanctuary, as is the case with any good monastery. We won't ask the pirates to be monks, however if any want to be, they're welcome to apply, once we figure out how to set that up. Otherwise, all we ask is that the other place (which I'll not mention) be mentioned as little as possible, so as not to cause bad feelings between the sites.

The monastery was begun by a few who met over there and began to grow in another direction from there. Now we've outgrown them and would  like to move along with no hard feelings. Some people here choose to be in both places, and that's fine. Peaceful communication is the Toadfish ideal. Humbleness is a method we've found that works well.

I joined TOP* because the pirates were so entertaining. Then I stayed for the politics. I would have added a lot to the pirate threads except I find typing in in a consistent piratical way to be difficult. I do enjoy their colorful stories.

Teripie - write yer Pirate in plain speak then copy paste it into the Pirate translator (http://www.talklikeapirate.com/translator.html) and copy and paste it back here.

Fer example, Oi ran the above threw that ther translator wot gives:

The pirate speaks,"Teripie - write yer Pirate in plain speak then copy paste it into t' Pirate translator and copy and paste it aft here"

See, yer know it makes sense.
