For a moment I thought you were talking about football (soccer for the non Brits).  :P

What better to know that the last person who saw you did so in a 'blessed' gunsight. So much for the X-tian showing of cheeks... ::)

Yeah, this has been around the newsies for a bit.

The self-righteous attitude of the company is one of the worst I've seen in awhile.  Complete with an ivory-tower and everything.  ::)

As well as the hypocrisy of pasting 'peace' sayings onto engines of war...

Some folk just do not come equipped with a working brain, it seems..

It's all about the definition of peace, you see, there should be peace once your enemies are obliterated... ::)

'Let light shine out of darkness' is quite appropriate for a rifle.

Founded by a devout Christian? A member of the Church Militant, by any chance?

Clearly more subtle than the old "Eat hot lead, pagan scum!".
Or US soldiers driving around Iraqi towns in armored vehicles with loudspeakers blaring insults about Islam, the Prophet and Muslims in general and praising the superiority (in the supremacist sense) of Christ (which did happen, right during the 'hearts and minds' campaign).

And the classic

Originally with the caption "Maul halten und weiter dienen!" (Shut up and carry on serving!) (The German version sounds a bit more rude than that the translation)

Combine this with all the brouhaha when the US Navy recently launched a warship which apparently contained a bit of steel taken from the ruins of the New York World Trade Center and you get something that looks more and more like the imperial death cult from the Warhammer 40K game... ::)

And to prove that dunderheadedness is truly international and without limits, we actually have a very similar company here in Sweden, too: Aimpoint, a Malmö-based company that produces gunsights, is owned and run by some very right-wing people, does not necessarily feel obliged to follow Swedish labour relations and employment law, and puts out a bunch of propaganda about how they help us preserve our "cherished Nordic freedom" in Sweden by selling arms to the US Army.

Yeah, right.

Sometimes I wish I was a black jewish immigrant homosexual female communist transsexual treehugging neo-pagan atheist catholic muslim pacifist terrorist on welfare, just to be everything those people are against.

Do they put bible versicles in their sights, and claim being doing god's will?

Gun manufacturers might not have a very moral business model but at least not all claim that they are following the scripture.

And it is unwise to hold the assault rifle that way, pointing it at your own face.

He'll have to be sent back to Earth for re-training.  There are plenty of his followers down here who can do the job.

Reminds me of the old movie idea: Gandhi II - He has had it with nonviolent resistance
Not to forget the Mary M series about Mary Magdalene:
Mary M - The other passion of the Christ
Mary M II - Revenge of Mary M
Mary M III - The Return of Judas
Mary M IV - Mary M meets the wife of Pilate
Mary M V - Mary M and the Gospel Singers
Plus the spin-off series: The Marvelous Apostles

You forgot 'injun'.... the uber-right wingers over here also (in addition to) hate any native peoples...

... likely because their existence reminds them of certain atrocities?

Or is it that they just don't like their skin's pigmentation.... ?

Hmmm.

I was going to say he forgot 'in a wheelchair'.  One might argue that it's difficult to be a native of a particular land and be an immigrant, but it's not impossible.

Well, African or Middle-Eastern heritage is looked upon more suspiciously here, Native Americans sort of fall under the category "Exotic" ::)

Our equivalence to Native Americans would be the Sami people, even if you can't really draw parallels as their land wasn't taken over by conquistadors, it was a slow development, still they have been very badly treated over the last centuries...
However, I doubt L would like to get counted in their ranks.
Some of the statements their official organisations have on their agenda, especially those about our wildlife and our 4 big predators (bear, wolf, wolverine and lynx) are on the opposite side of both my and L's POV as they want to reduce the numbers of all these animals to a minimum, below the number that are critical so sustain a genetically healthy stock of animals.

This is a really ugly can of worms that really not wish to open right now.    :-\

Apparently the manufacturer of gunsights have decided to provide kits to remove the biblical references:
