Apologies to those of our US members at the slight bashing in this article, Life: A Medical Condition (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/health/7967851.stm), but it seems we are catching this virus over here now according to the BBC.
:irony:
I've been bitching about this for years. One doctor asked me if I held repressed anger about it. I said "Repressed?? Oh, HELLS, no. Why repress anger at your stupidity? You need to KNOW I think you're full of shit. And you are. Repressed, my ass...." Yeah, she was a psychiatrist. DUH
Once again, there is no normal. But NOW, they're making it all a 'condition" so they can throw drugs at it. Easier than DOING something, you know.
I recall about 5 years ago, when I was creating HCA's Operational Data Stores Logical Data Model (since discarded ::) ) having to advise a lot of people, and solicit objections/comments from them, that we were henceforth defining Doctors as a sub-class of People (It was considered both novel and radical), and that International Standards applicable to the US Healthcare industry required that instead of a 'SEX' designation that had Male or Female (- M/F) as its possible values, we had to allow for 17 different variations in what Sex we designated a person as, and that it was considered a major HIPAA violation if anyone without a proven need to know had access to that designation for any patient (it was considered 'unacceptable').
I got many request to explain what the 17 specified values consisted of.
Mero I just bet you did -- ;)
So we owe Clinton the commercials in which we all have symptoms of something? And to think I held some level of respect for the man...
