Swatopluk earlier gave us a nice Middle High German poem.  Here's another which I wrote over 40 years ago:

Ich saz uf der toilette
Mere danne ein jar;
Papier ich da enhette, ezn was niht papier da.
Owe!  Mir ist diu hose vol,
Ich enweiz, wie ich si wischen sol.   :o

Al goth bote Godes wille:

Al that gren me graueth grene,

Ant shild us from helle!
For y not whider y shal, ne hou longe her duelle.

Thank you all for the warm welcome!  I note the gratifying number of Latin tags around the place.  I am thinking of changing my sig to:

'Quantum materiae materietur marmota monax si marmota monax materiam possit materiari?'   :-\

All this talk of squidlings and sucker-marks, dust-bunnies and minotaurs is interesting.  Do you have one very tame hamster until I get used to the scary stuff?   :mrgreen:

Respectful greetings to one and all.  I am a dedicated Pastafarian and used to be active on the Venganza forum.  I shall aim to make a worthwhile contribution here.
I warn you all now that I am a linguistic history nerd.  If you have any questions about such matters DON'T ASK ME or you'll be reading for days.  :mrgreen:
