Crunch the autumn leaves
Too cold too soon too early

I think that a family's right to bury a loved one in peace should take precedence over the Phelps' right to protest. This situation angers me.

The ding dong daddy had a sensual soul
Lonely women flocked to him & he loved them all
The train went in the tunnel in the dark he proposed
The bonds of matrimony in the sweetest prose
The ladies got together & decided they'd been had
This ain't Salt Lake & you ain't Don Juan man
We've got to give you credit was we
Happy for a time
But you're the ding dong daddy of the d car line

Pull over and rest

I'll start with "the end"
And what about the middle?

Here's a question I have in regard to those people who protest at other's funerals: have they never lost someone they care about before? I don't get why they would want to inflict more pain upon people who are already suffering because they lost a loved one.

Spirituality / Re: The fate of limbo
October 06, 2006, 06:58:50 PM
I suppose because I do not believe in a concept of Original Sin, nor am I Catholic, this tome doesn't affect me directly. However, it seems to me that Limbo doesn't quite fit into the "God elects people for salvation" ideology that has permeated Christianity until the last 200 years.

Now as for the idea that un-baptized babies go to Limbo, is that just for the Catholic babies?

I also didn't know that Limbo is where the people that died before Jesus was go, according to Catholicism. (Protestants I've spoken to say they're in Hell...)

My current avatar is a 15th century castle in Lubeck, Ger.  I took the picture several years ago when I visited Europe.

Aphos, your avatar reminds me of a painting at the Minneapolis Institute of Art:

The Promenades of Euclid, by René Magritte

(Mine's a bodhisattva in a plate of tasty pasta! I combined the image one night when I was a little bit bored at work!)

General Piratin' Issues / Re: The Sacred YARGHHH!

"The Sacred YARGHHH" sounds like it would be a great title for some sort of holy text. I would love to see that studied in world religion classes along side the Vedas, the Sayings of Lao Tzu, and so forth.

Anyway, here is my contribution: YARGHHH

So, whereas other mediation focuses on the "Om," we focus on the "AARRRGGGG"? This could provide some great catharsis!

I never picked out a Sibling name before we moved, so I'm just going to keep NeferKa for now. I added Bodhipasta to the end, which was something we discussed at venganza. I know someone else coined the term toadisattva, but I didn't know about it until after I became a Sibling. If this is an issue though, I can drop it from my name.

Don't some monasteries open their doors to non-monks as well?

(I still feel special because I got nominated in. I think I'm going to make myself some kind of special robe to wear around the house when I eat pasta for dinner! I am thinking it should be red in case I spill any sauce on myself, but I need a fishy emblem to put on it!)

It's not like we are pedalling our own version of FSM.

It's nice to know that we're not having the HOT schism of 2006 on our hands at least! It's too bad all of the previous work was lost.

(Sorry for veering off topic:) As I've mentioned before, I am still trying to catch up with all the changes. What exactly is our relationship with FSM and such? I've seen some Siblings say they are done at Vengaza and other say they'll stick it out. I don't want to pick sides, but the split is worth noting. (I know that this sort of discussion was asked to remain in one thread, but I can't find that thread right now!)
