Guys, I don't know about you, but I have sent to hell my job search for today and I have been glued to the TV most of the day to follow the inauguration of Barak Obama...

I have been crying most of the time :) (of joy mind you and many other positive feelings...especially when monkey face boarded the helicopter and rid our nation of his fastidious presence!)

But one particular moment made me realize how the air has really changed in our nation... when Barak and his wife scrolled along Pensylvania Avenue on foot....

maybe I am wrong, but I recall a much chillier parade for Bush and some eggs throwing as well (?)

Anyway, I just wanted to share how happy I am that I am here to see this day ( I even taped it for my daughter to be able to see it one day!)

I am currently downloading the stuff.
His short speech during the Lincoln Memorial Concert was also quite impressive btw.
Knurrhähne sind eßbar aber empfehlen würde ich das nicht unbedingt.
The aspitriglos is edible though I do not actually recommend it.

I saw that foot-parade.  He was allowed out of the armored limo, when he passed between some of the most secure buildings in Washington, according to the commentators.

Still, when he and his beautiful wife walked slowly along, hand in hand, smiling and waving at the crowd, I teared up myself.  It was a beautiful thing: that he would rather walk (when allowed by security) than ride, says to me he does not think like an entitled person, but more like a real, working person instead...humble enough to walk and be seen by the crowd.  To wave to as many as he could.  I could see them each catching the eyes of those lining the road, smiling and nodding to the people as if to say, "you matter".

*sigh*

It still gets me....right here *thumps chest*

That's the key, I don't want him to risk his life (which is very much in danger every passing moment). I'm begging that his security detail is up to snuff.

I decided to chuck my recording on the basis that the great grandchildren wll just have to fiddle with their left ear to obtain an In-Brain show of it.

I did a sillier thing instead. I bought a dot com domain in my grandsons name so it isn't snatched up by anybody with the same name before ge grows up. I am going to dedicate it to "On This Day" !!!!

Me too. I really expect this. I am not sure any security can prevent a really determined attack.  :'(  If the worst happens, I hope he at least has time to feel he hasmade a real difference.

Well, he's already signed an executive order to close Guantanamo Bay camp...

He's signed orders that *all* US interrogations *will* comply with the US Army field manual directives (no more water boarding, no more torture...)

He's indicated that we "must follow our principles, not just when it's easy, but also when it's hard".

*sigh*.....*sniff*

Obama reshapes US policy

So....even if aliens abduct him tomorrow, he'll already have had a positive impact.

In only 2 days...

H#ll, even False News managed not to bungle it up:

Opsa

I am so thankful that we have a president that has the guts to start cleaning up the mess immediately!

Can we make him an honorary Toadfish? Can we, huh?

I dunno...Fidel Castro survived 638 known and documented plots to kill him whilst he was in power...

I'm so proud of America right now, suddenly they don't seem so stupid...Finally some people in office that have the power to make a difference. I hope.

Edit: Oh boy, I only jsut then watched his inaguration speech.
Wonderful!
I got all teary and got butterflys when he said "Your people will remember you by what you build, not what you destroy"

Yes indeed- really, really big chills
and many tears of joy and hope.

I don't really go in for the whole heaven and hell thing but I am sure that now there are some souls(spirits, memories, lingerings, ghosts-living and dead) that are finally at rest at peace having seen his hand raised to accept the oath of office.

I found this on FSDT.com (Fundies say the Darnedest Things).
Apparently even fundies on Rapture Ready feel it, though their reaction is perhaps typical.  :stupid:

You know, i do too. i can't watch him speak on tv for more than 5 minutes or else what he's saying starts to make sense to me. It's very scary indeed.
