there is the Dittany I was telling you guys about

http://www.richters.com/Web_store/web_store.cgi?searchterm=dittany&search_catalogue_button=Go

Discordes reports that ancient Greeks regarded this herb as the most amazing in wound healing... it was said to be able to expel the arrows from the wounds and heal them...

Facebook is a public venue, a place where to start you state who you are, therefore, the owners don't feel compelled to guard your privacy.

True, but there is a big difference between guarding one's privacy and making money out of data that should not be anyone's business...

if I go to a pubblic plaza I do not not do it to show everyone my bra bought at Victoria's secret, I do not shout my sexual preferences at the top of my lunges and I do not disclose intimate details to strangers....

that is what FB is doing right now...and since I like the idea of being able to keep in touch with my loved ones... I would rather pay for the service other than having them sell my aggregated data...

My two cents ;)

On a slightly different tack, a program on TV last night about girl who committed suicide (14 yr old) due to being bullied on Facebook. Apparently this is very common - the bullying.

SAD... but my comment to that would be : hang the parents.

What is a 14 yr old doing on FB unsupervised?

Something in my world is right again... now that I have resumed the delivery of the NY Times :D

Although a horrifying story was featured in yesterday's business session. It was entitled "Facebook is using you".
I have always been a bit weiry about this FB stuff, but indulged for the sake of family and friends overseas who would be otherwise estranged from my life...
put up with the privacy bs FB has tried to pull over the years, but this article took the whole FB thing to a new dimension.
Net:
Since there aren't laws about data aggregation here in the US, companies can use FB data to put you in a consumer or payer category or another and the next thing you know, your borrowing power is affected with no better explanation (because companies are not obligated by law to provide a reason).

I am really sorry I am unable to share the link to the article...because it is behind subscription level  :censored:

but this is truly distrurbing... let's set FB on fire man!

I start my Imbolic seeds in little trays and cover them with palstic wrap for green house effect.

Little note: I have come to a point were I consider the various religions just names classifications... they all lead into one another and to the same truths...

it's the interpretation of men that distorts that truth... IMHO

that is to say... I do not consider myself wiccan or new pagan or Celtic... just because all of those definitions put a limit as to what I can do if I want to stay in that "container"

I do what feels right for me...

the Wheel of the year feels right because it is attuned to the Earth cycles...
the naming of the wheel have long been lost in Italy (due to obvious influence and persecution), the Celtic tradition is what has the most accurate reports... :)

end of little note ;D

I have been not well for a week now... but I planted apple seeds from the apples we cut on Samhain, some lemon seeds and Italian chilly peppers seeds from the plants I have harvested from last fall. :)

How to clean a toilet
This was simply too much of a time saver not to share it with you.
1. Put both lids of the toilet up

And add 1/8 cup of pet shampoo to the water in the bowl.

2. Pick up the cat and soothe him while you carry him towards the bathroom.

3. In one smooth movement, put the cat in the toilet and close the lid.
You may need to stand on the lid.

4. The cat will self agitate and make ample suds.
Never mind the noises that come from the toilet, the cat is actually enjoying this.

5. Flush the toilet three or four times.
This provides a 'power-wash' and rinse'.

6. Have someone open the front door of your home.
Be sure that there are no people between the bathroom and the front door.

7. Stand behind the toilet as far as you can, and quickly lift the lid.

8. The cat will rocket out of the toilet, streak through the bathroom,
And run outside where he will dry himself off.

9. Both the commode and the cat will be sparkling clean..

How about a system with no public schools where the tuition of children that would normally opt for public schools would be covered by the school community?

If I really think about it, what really bugs me is not that I have to sped double for my daughter's education, but the fact that not all the schools are the same.

They have you trapped in this rat race for the house in the upper class neighborhood just to give your child a shot at decent education...

and that is the main reason why I went for private: I cannot afford to live in a mansion on the hills... so I opt for an apartment in a decent place and pay what I would pay extra to landlord into my daughter's tuition instead.
