LINDENHURST, N.Y. (AP) -- Three thieves who allegedly stole 14 global positioning system devices didn't get away with their crime for long. The devices led police right to their home.

It seems these guys thought they had a cache of cell phones, but what they had was a box of GPS vehicle trackers.

The town to which the devices belonged had purchased them to better track and distribute their various snow plows and other maintenance vehicles.

So, as soon as the theft was detected, they contacted the police with the location their system was reporting--inside a local house.

The cops arrested one of the thieves with the device in his hands... ain't it just too funny?
Sometimes, the real journey can only be taken by making a mistake.
