I admit it

my name is anthrobabe and I have a bead fetish.

I routinly spend copious amounts of coin for beads. No one is starving at home and the bills are paid- but I should really get another hobby- I have a veritable treasure trove of a bead collection. And I have plans for them all- yeah right- I'm just a hoarder who am I kidding.

Ok I tried that once- and well- it was a bad situation. I spent even more money on beads and just added to the problem. My daughter came into the kitchen one day and said, " the delivery guy is here, again." and well it was intervention time.

It's better now that I'm working full time. Really, it's better-- umm what do you mean rental mailbox at the mall... I'm not getting bead deliveries at some rental mailbox place at the mall... Oh you saw me there... ummmm  Oh look it that Johnny Depp over there getting on that city bus

How about if I send you beads free and you make knecklaces and send them back and I sell them on EBay?

It may take a few weeks to work out but I am looking into it.  More than likely the profits will go to a good cause.  How does that sound to you? That's all I can say about it right now.

I am possibly going back to work full time soon- so might possibly be too busy to do alot- but I'm still interested in doing something.

Ok I've been way busy-- but I have a question?

what would beaded squidlings look like? I'm thinking 3-dimensional free form squidlings. does anyone remember the little beaded dolls one could get on things like key chains and necklaces in the past- I always remember them being available at souvenier shops in the Southwest USA-- sort of a beaded indian or mexican doll about 1 to 2 inches in height. That's what I have in mind- but squidlings and things. Oh and coweled toadfish as well.

I can make lizards but I have no idea on how to make a thing with tentacles...
We have to figure that out.

Are these seed beads, pony beads, or something larger? If your squidlings are very small, you could handle the tentacles like beaded tassles.

Here's a link to some wired bead creatures which you might be able to analyze for other ways to add legs/tentacles. (Take a look at the spiders as as well the lobster.)

There are several beaders in my circle, so if you give me a little more info on your technique, we might have some ideas you can use.

I'd like to try different sizes of beads to see how each look-- and posibly mixed sizes in each squidling.

What I'd put together really resembled an octopus vs anything else-- head really round--- I think if I use some wire and several smaller seeds instead of trying to use on larger bead the head will be more properly shaped.
